I am so thankful that we have a heavenly Father that will walk with us, even through the messes we sometimes make. Father is not ashamed of us nor is He threatened by our mistakes. In fact, I Corinthians 10:13 states that “God is faithful… that you might be able to bear it.” Father is full of faith, believing that you cannot just make it but that you can carry (bear) it all the way through. Earlier, the verse says, “but with the temptation will also make a way of escape, that you might be able to bear it.”
Many times we get ourselves in a mess and then want God to get us out supernaturally. Sometimes He will, but whether He works a way for us to escape out of the temptation or He strengthens us to walk through the situation and out the other side, His desire is always to grow us and strengthen us through every situation, even temptation. Father never brings or sends the temptation just as James 1 tells us that He can’t tempt with evil.
The temptation is generally some demon accusing and stating that we are still that “old person” with the same cravings we had before we trusted Christ. The Holy Spirit on the other hand if Full of Faith in us, that we have in our “new DNA” as a believer all it will take, not only to say “no” to temptation, but also to have the strength to walk out of our messes, out of hard times, out of hurt, out of disappointment, out of being violated, so as to see the devil’s plan rejected and defused.
Father is also “Full of Faith” that we will not only walk out had situations, but that we will also “walk in” to blessing, hope and that faith will rise in us and there will come a supernatural surprise for the devil that will rock him backwards. Just like David “rocked” Goliath and totally surprised the enemies of God, especially the demons present that day at Sochoh and Azekah, I Samuel 17.
Walking with Christ in the Spirit we are amazing overcoming wonders. Left to ourselves we tend to get into messes, but the Holy Spirit is teaching us to listen more, trust Him, and take the risk of walking in the Spirit, which is really no risk at all.
Have a blessed and overcoming week!
Dave
P.S. I would encourage you to go back and re-read various days in “Igniting Faith”. Day 12 and 17 were an encouragement for me today.
